All of these wonderful original pieces are $25 each. Find the one you want-but please do not touch. Please leave it on the wall. Please tell the artist on duty which pieces you want to buy and they will assist you. If you purchase a 4x4 we ask that you leave it on the wall until the reception, which will be held July 13, from 6pm to 8pm. If you purchase a 4x4 after July 13, you can take it with you at the time of purchase.
About he making of Expressions, a featured artist show

While searching the internet one day, I came across an article about an Art Gallery in New York. They were having their annual “Post-it” Show. Artists would create an original piece of art on a 3x3 inch post-it note. After the show’s opening, people stood in line to get into the Gallery to buy one of these originals.
At the time, I remember thinking that an art show like this would be a wonderful chance for our talented Cypress Gallery Artists to express themselves. Our Board of Directors also found the idea exciting and we decided to make it the featured show for our Twenty -Fifth Anniversary Celebration.
We provided 4x4 inch canvases to every artist that wanted to participate. We were pleased that some of our past members wanted to join us. Forty-two artists took up the challenge to create works of art on a 4”x4” canvas. Rules were simple – It could be in any medium and the artwork couldn’t go beyond the canvas.
At first, I heard, “it’s too small”, “what should I do with it? “ But you can’t keep a good artist down and soon the 4x4’s started coming back. The 4”x4”s expressed every artist’s individual sense of creativity, humor, and insight. Some artists chose to create in their favorite medium while others explored. Some artists worked outside of their preferred medium creating little jewels. Some worked outside of their comfort zone and created little masterpieces. In the end over 260 small, wonderful, colorful, creations were produced.
